Born 1955 in the north-western region of NSW Australia, rural country and farming town of Coonabarabran, attended Coonabarabran Primary and High School, graduated to 4th Form (Year 10) at age 17yrs, left school and work in electronics installation and servicing for 3 yrs and progress into other industries until I decided at the of age 21 yrs, I would join the Ambulance Service of NSW and worked in the capacity of an Ambulance Officer at various locations within the state of NSW in the rural communities of Mudgee, Walgett, Tamworth, Jindabyne, Goulburn.

I relieved at numerous towns and today I live permanently in coastal location of Shellharbour. This is a community that I love and I have greatly become extremely active in local community activities and charities organisations. Unfortunately I have never married, but I’m greatly contented been single guy with many great and special friends spread wide and far. I have 2 wonderful border collie dogs who are my greatest companions and very loyal to their master. My main hobbies are restoration of a 1924 Buick Tourer and a 1928 Chevrolet Tourer which both vehicles are under restoration at present

My vast experiences has equipped me to deal all facets of remote areas, wilderness, coastal, rural and various types of emergency work, industrial relations, major incidents, technology changes as today and for the past 15 yrs I have worked in an Operation Centres, co-ordinating Ambulance Resources, my position for the past 8 yrs has been assigned to the Southern Division Operations Centre as an Dispatcher, using the tools of a Computer Aided Dispatch System, ensuring we are able to deliver high quality Emergency Ambulance Care anywhere in the state of NSW.

I joined Rotary in April 2003 with the Rotary Club of Shellharbour City and later transferred to the Rotary Club of Minnamurra in 2007. A short period of time with this club I was asked to accept the position of President Elect due to illness of the nominated PE. I accepted this position with great delight and following much happiness and great fellowship with my new and exciting club members we are a very delightful group of Rotarians to ever meet.

Our club has several projects each and every year, these include RYLA, RYPEN, GSE, YEP, Unique & Classic Car Show, Emergency Services Expo in Kiama, and just recently we promoted International NetSafe Day that was celebrated on the 12th February. We also sponsor BowelScan, and ARHRF and Shelter Box. Please visit our website: www.rotarnet.com.au/users/9/97554/ as I’m the webmaster as our members are very proud of our website and information.

Recently I have just visited very close and long term friends of mine at Wanganui, New Zealand, Graeme & Marie Baker who are also members of the Wanganui Day Break Club, same and Chris and Susan Wilks, as I became aware that our past ROTI chair Chris and Sue Wilks are also very close friends of the Bakers. So to some delight, it was then confirmed that I should be making a return visit to Wanganui after 23 yrs and a delightful stay just recently during the same week as Waitangi Day, I was able to make acquaintance with Chris and Sue, plus those 2 gorgeous Bernese Mountain Dogs Murphy & Shannon, and also gather a further insight to ROTI.

Thank you to everyone at Wanganui DayBreak Club, keep up the great work.

Cheers
