Free Pediatric Clinic for Indigents

In answer for the call for the reduction of child mortality, the Rotary Club of Hundred Islands in cooperation with the Pangasinan Medical Society, Inc., launched last September 5, 2008 the Free Pediatric Clinic for Indigents. On that day, 10 pediatric patients were examined, treated and given free medicine.

Last October 10, 2008, there were 23 pediatric patients who were examined, treated and giving free medicine during the weekly Free Pediatric Clinic for Indigents conducted as Suite #2, Second Floor, Oregon Building, San Jose Drive, Poblacion, Alaminos City by Immediate President Ildefonso “Doods” M. Manzano, Jr., the best pediatrician in Western Pangasinan. He was assisted by Rotarian Jean Rendon who acted as clinic assistant.

iPP Doods conducted the October 17, 2008, Free Pediatrict Clinic without any Rotarian assistant for the first time. There were around ten (10) patients treated and given free medicine.

October 24, 2008 the free pediatric clinic was held together with the Medical Dental Mission with Rotary Club of Paranaque Southwest at Barangay San Jose, Alaminos City. IPP Doods and Rtn Fritzi Salacup, both Pediatricians, stopped consultation, treatment and were given free medicine at 2:00 in the afternoon when there are none to treat anymore. The consultation and treatment started at 9:00 in the morning where patients seemed to be endless.

There was no clinic last October 3 and 30 because iPP Doods was in a Pediatric seminar and resting after the Run for Life 5 kilometer run sponsored by Garden of Remembrance.
