Emergency Alarm System in Beit Dagan
Elderly people, lonely or even couples and crippled people, have fears that when they are ill or wounded or when they stand against dangers like heist or burglar, or even when they feel lonely - that no one is there to help them.
Providing them an alarm button to summon emergency help from any room in the house, 24 hours a day, by an emergency alarm center, can solve those problems. The service of "Yad Sara" emergency center (A world known Israeli volunteers organization) is unique in providing these services few years without monthly payments, and lending an ear to hear the lonely subscribers.
The project - Providing about 120 elderly or crippled people in the town of Beit Dagan with emergency systems and buttons, is going on by the RC of Beit Dagan from District 2490, Israel.
The project is a Matching Grant project. The international partner is RC Antwerpen West from District 2170, Belgium, and we got DDF from our district to have all the money we need. The Rotary Foundation approved the activity and matched it to begin the project.
We began publicizing the project to reach the eligible population, and after checking their eligibility together with the local community welfare department, our club members meet the people, taking their personal and health details and sending the forms to the security alarm center.
After loading the details to the center computer, there are implementation days, when people from "Yad Sara" come, and accompanied by our club members they go to the subscriber's homes to install and connect the system that you can see in the image to the phone line and the electricity. The elders and the other people thanks Rotary for helping them getting these systems.
Until now we had two such implementation days. We and the elders look forward to finish installing all the systems and providing them security and peace of mind.
