At the cheque presentation ceremony held today (October 17), Mr Peter Wan, District Governor, Rotary International District 3450, said, "The mega earthquake is indeed a most heart-breaking tragedy but it will not stop us from putting our motto of "Service Above Self" into action.  Every minute and dollar counts, and Rotarians will take immediate action to help save more lives."

Witnessing the cheque presentation ceremony included Rotary's Past District Governors, Assistant Governors, District Officers and representatives from MSF Hong Kong office.

MSF is actively looking into how to get additional resources in the affected areas which include cargo as well as people.  Surgical kits, emergency health kits, dispensary tents, winterized tents, jerry cans, blankets, chlorination kits, diesel motor pumps and water distribution modules are expecting to arrive soon.  MSF is also sending more medical (including mental health) and logistics people to the affected areas to assist.
