More San Diego
Well folks, if this isn't God's country I won't give Vancouver Island a miss next time around!
It's hard to believe but it's true: The McCulloughs have taken half of the Berlin Wall away before it got commercialised in bits and pieces of all sizes.
Here's just one of the chunks, still with the original paint on it. And I had to travel all the way to San Diego County to get a look at and a shot of it!
Having our own means of transport, we did not avail ourselves of the possibility to ride around San Diego on one of these colourful tram-type buses that take tourists "for a ride". Of course, one IS no tourist when one sees a place together with t he locals!
During a one-hour harbour cruise we got to see:
…………… world famous aircraft carrier NIMITZ carrying some 35 aircraft and a crew of 6,000 ………………
……………….. and a slightly smaller carrier whose name I can't remember with a crew of 5,500 ……………………
…………………… plus a view of downtown San Diego ………………….
……………. and proud tall ship "Star of India".
Lunch at a very popular Mexican restaurant shows ……………
……………. Averill and Melly sharing a medium sized Marguerita ……………
……………. Yours Truly, the driver, is comfortably having one on his own ………….
………….. while Art is looking on.
And here comes the big event:

I was amazed to see that the "actual" Billo looks a lot younger than he pretends to be on his Hawaiian page, don't you all agree?

Left: Melly and Billo (are they swaying or have I had one Californian Red too many?) Right: Razor, Opinionated Al, Melly and Billo |
And here's what we ALL should do much more often:
